Try This Tier List βHow We Rank
Which winners are included
Every anime that won Anime of the Year, Film of the Year, Best New, Continuing or Original series, a genre award (Action, Comedy, Drama, Isekai, Romance, Slice of Life), Best Director, Best Animation, or a main, supporting or "Must Protect" character award. Music, art and voice awards are listed on a card when a title won them, but don't put a title on the list by themselves. That is why Chainsaw Man β The Movie: Reze Arc, the best-rated anime of the night (9.06 on MyAnimeList), isn't ranked: its only win was Best Anime Song, for Kenshi Yonezu's "IRIS OUT".
How the tiers are set
The same way as our monthly anime tier lists: audience reception on MyAnimeList (checked September 2026) for the season that won. The number of awards an anime won does not move it up or down.
S Tier = exceptional, must-watch regardless of genre preferences
A Tier = excellent, highly recommended for fans of the genre
B Tier = good, worth watching if the premise interests you
C Tier = decent, has notable strengths but also clear weaknesses
