Most “best tier list maker” posts treat every app like it’s in the same race. They’re not. Most of these make one tier list right now: pick a template, drag some pictures, download the image. Others are built for streamers or for one fandom. So I sorted them by what you’re trying to do, with my pick first in each group.
What I looked at: whether you need an account, where the pictures come from, templates, sharing and export, how it works on a phone, price and ads, and whether the app still gets updates. Everything here was checked in October 2026.
🏆 The tier list
| Group | My picks, best first | Pick this group if… |
|---|---|---|
| Quick one-off lists | TierMaker › TierListMaker.org › Rankly › Supatier | You want a tier list of something right now |
| Creators & voting | TierBuddy › GOATY | You stream, post rankings, or want people to vote |
| One fandom | MyAnitier › AniTier › Anime Corner | You only care about anime and want the cover art done for you |
| What to watch next | ME-DB | You want your watchlist ranked, plus a ranked record of everything you’ve finished |
📱 What about phone apps? I like websites better, since the same list works on my PC and my phone, so every pick here runs in a browser. If you really want a native app, Tier List - Rank Anything for iPhone has the best rating of the apps I looked at: 4.5 stars from 2.3K ratings, free or $2.99 once.
⚡ Quick one-off lists
TierMaker

The biggest tier list site, with millions of community templates.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Most popular | Has ads |
| Millions of templates for almost any fandom | Watermark on free downloads |
| Sharing & community |
🎯 I’d use it for: the original tier making experience.
TierListMaker.org

A free, no-frills tier list maker that's been around since July 2025, with 20 text templates.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| No ads | No built-in images (upload your own) |
| Text mode | No account to save lists over time |
| Game templates: bosses, weapons, characters |
🎯 I’d use it for: a fast, ad-free list of my own text or images.
Rankly (tierlistmaker.pro)

A tier list site under the Rankly name, with big ready-made game packs and a community feed.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Game & fandom templates | No account to save lists over time |
| Share to a community feed with no account at all | |
| Text mode | |
| No ads |
🎯 I’d use it for: built-in templates for anime, games and more.
Supatier

A free tier list site built around community-made templates.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Community-made templates to explore | Has ads |
| Autosave & offline mode | No text mode (images only) |
| Account needed to save or share |
🎯 I’d use it for: exploring community-made lists.
🎥 Creators & voting
TierBuddy

A newer maker with about 227K lists from its community.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Templates by category: gaming, food, anime, movies, sports, Roblox | Has ads |
| Click an item to see why someone placed it there | A little slow |
| Live voting & remixes | |
| AI item generation |
🎯 I’d use it for: seeing what random lists other people make. You can post lists without an account, so a lot of them are anonymous and get pretty random and crude, which is half the fun. And NSFW too, if you're into that.
GOATY

A community tier list site where people play each other's templates, plus write-ups (breakdowns) that explain the picks.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Community templates | Small template library |
| Text and picture items | |
| Breakdowns: a write-up explaining each pick | |
| Embed and share links | |
| No ads |
🎯 I’d use it for: exploring oddly specific templates, like the Ultimate All-in-One Men's Shampoo Ingredients tier list. Plus the goat theme is fun.
🌸 One fandom
MyAnitier

Ready-made anime tier lists for almost any season, year, genre or studio, with data synced from AniList.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Ready-made templates: every season (2022 to Winter 2027), every year since 2007, genres, studios | Anime and manga only |
| Titles shown next to the covers when you pick | |
| “Haven’t Watched” tier and sorting by score, popularity or trending | |
| No ads |
🎯 I’d use it for: a ready-made tier list for a season, year, genre or studio, without building it myself.
AniTier (AniTierList)

Pick an anime season or genre and the board fills itself with cover art from AniList.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Automatic cover art | Anime only |
| Filters by genre, year, season, format and airing status | No text mode (covers only), so you have to recognize shows by their art |
| Personalized mode from your AniList | No share link |
| Free |
🎯 I’d use it for: tier lists of specific kinds of anime, by genre, season or year, or from my AniList username to rank by watch status.
Anime Corner Tier List Builder

Added in July 2026 by Anime Corner, an anime news site that's been around since 2012.
| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Anime database with season & genre filters | Anime only |
| Ranked (top 10 style) lists too, and publish when signed in | Small community so far |
| No ads |
🎯 I’d use it for: a top 10 or ranked list, a tier list, or browsing other people's rankings, plus everything else on the site, like the anime calendar, news and polls.
💡 Side note: AniList. It’s not a tier list app, but MyAnitier and AniTier both run on its data, and it’s great for anime specifically. I’d use it for stats like my most-watched voice actors, recommendations, one of the many apps built on it, and custom scoring (10-point, 100-point, 5-star or smileys).
📝 What to watch next
ME-DB
Okay, mine. I started ME-DB because I kept all my anime rankings in a Google Doc, which worked until it didn’t. There was way too much anime to catch up on, and a flat “to watch” list doesn’t tell you what to watch first.
So ME-DB gives you two tier lists.
📋 To-Do
Everything you want to watch or play, ranked, so the S tier is literally what to start next.
✅ Collection
Everything you’ve finished, ranked, so you remember what you loved.
🔁 When you finish something, it moves from To-Do to Collection and gets a tier. It works for anime, movies, TV, games and any list type you make up, with tags, filters, stats, custom tier names and colors, share links and share-as-image.
It’s not just for shows and games, either. The idea is to rank anything worth your time. You can make your own list types, like books or concerts, and they work the same way. I keep one for date ideas and one for drinks.
It’s built around words on purpose. I remember shows by their titles, not their covers (probably from years of reading subtitles), so there are no poster walls, just titles in tiers you can read at a glance. If you want cover art, AniTier or TierBuddy will make you happier.
It’s also meant to be simple: sign in, add things, drag them into tiers.

| 👍 Pros | 👎 Cons |
|---|---|
| Ranked To-Do + Collection | Small template library |
| No ads | Titles, not cover art (on purpose) |
| Any list type | No community feed |
| Notes on why it’s ranked there | |
| Date & tag filters | |
| Stats & CSV export |
🎯 I’d use it for: deciding what to watch, play or do next, and remembering what I loved. If you only want to rank Smash characters tonight, TierMaker is faster.
Feel free to use it! I use it every day myself, so it’ll keep getting better either way.
